How a House Full of Plants Led to My Handmade Business
Share
True story!
Back in 2020, my home was completely overrun with houseplants. I had them on every surface and was running out of places to put them. Desperate for a solution, I decided to try making a few macrame plant hangers. Little did I know, this simple project would spark something much bigger.
I quickly caught the macrame bug. Before I knew it, I had far more plant hangers than I could ever use. That’s when the thought hit me: “Maybe I could sell a few?”
At first, I wasn’t sure. When people started suggesting I turn my creations into a business, my imposter syndrome tried to shut the idea down. But deep down, I didn’t want to stop making. I loved the creative process too much.
So, I took the plunge. I chose a business name, had a logo designed (which made everything feel so real), and officially registered my little venture. It was a big leap, but one I’ll never regret.
Of course, my business has grown beyond plant hangers since then, but houseplants still hold a special place in my heart. They’re what started this journey, after all!
Now, as I look ahead to 2025, I can’t help but feel excited. My story is still unfolding, and there’s so much more to come. If you’d like to follow along on this adventure, I’d love to have you join me.
