From One Ball of Yarn to a Full-Blown Passion: Reflecting on 5 Years of Macra-Made With Love
Share
It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since I picked up that first ball of (totally unsuitable) yarn and decided to try my hand at making a plant hanger. I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t know the knots, I didn’t have the right materials — I just had a spark of curiosity and a love for plants. And that was all I needed to get started.
Looking back now, I’m amazed at how much has changed. That one experimental plant hanger in 2020 turned into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. What started as a hobby has become a passion, a business, and a part of my everyday life.
Plant hangers still hold a special place in my heart. They were the beginning of my macramé journey, and to this day, they remain an absolute staple in my work. There’s something timeless about them — a mix of function and beauty that never goes out of style. And, if anything, I love plants even more now than I did back then (and that’s saying something!).
Whether you’ve followed my journey from the early days or only just found me — thank you! Every kind message, order, comment, or like has helped shape this path, and I’m so grateful for the support.
Here’s to the next 5 years — and many more plant hangers to come 🪴
